Welcome to the October 2006 update of the Looney News!

Coming in November - Fluxx Espanol!

Fluxx Espanol photo The Spanish edition of Fluxx is at the printers and will be available for sale in early November! The Spanish edition has been produced entirely in-house and features new cards just for this version. It has a 56-card base (like Family Fluxx), and features 6 new Goals, such as Feliz Cumpleanos! (Happy Birthday!), La Boda (The Wedding), and Pastel Tres Leches (Three-Milk Cake). There is also a fabulous new Keeper: La Fiesta! Read more about it.

Now Available - 3rd Edition of Are You A Werewolf?

AYAW? photo The 3rd Edition of Are You A Werewolf? is finally back in stock! What's changed? Nothing about the game itself, just some tweaks to how it's made. Instead of including a separate rules insert, the instructions now appear on a series of 4 extra cards. It includes a few added recommendations we've come up with to help the game run best, plus a small section called Types of Hunters to help players understand their preferred hunting-styles. The price is still $4.

Fire Sale! Be a Werewolf this Halloween! We have a few Werewolf Kits left that include XL or 3XL size Werewolf T-shirts. We've slashed prices so grab yours now before they're all gone!

Now Available - 2006 Tree and Forest Promo Cards 2006 Promo Cards

The 2006 Promo Cards are now available on our web site. Keepers: The Fruit Tree, The Pine Tree, The Palm Tree, and the accompanying Goal: The Forest. We've put all four cards in a convenient pack, or you can buy them individually. Tree Buttons with the same artwork from the 2006 Promo Cards are also available!

Wondering what that new "Night Forest" promo card is and where it came from? While not naturally superstitious, we experienced enough problems with the Tree and Forest promo cards this year (and related products we wanted to put the art on, such as the Tree Buttons) to dub this summer officially "The Summer of the Cursed Trees!" Read all about the rare "Night Forest" misprint and the curse of the trees here...

Now Available - Eleven Little Black Squares (ELBS) ELBS photo

Because we can't stand to throw out perfectly good stuff, we try to reuse and recycle everything we can. That's where this new product came from. These Eleven Little Black Squares (ELBS) were cut out of black Plexiglas to make the holes in our Volcano Boards... so they fit perfectly back in again. They were so cool we couldn't stand pitching them, so we saved them and are now offering them to you. What can you do with eleven little black squares you ask? You need eleven of them to convert a 6x6 MegaVolcano board into a regular 5x5. Or just get some to play with: block off certain spots, or even make a custom shaped board!

Educational Update

On 09/23/2006, the American Association of School Librarians recommended Fluxx for the classroom! They said, "If you want to teach students to be flexible, adaptable, information literate people, I can think of few games more suited to that task than Fluxx.....Understanding and applying rules to master a situation, really the heart of gaming, also happens to be a critical skill in information literacy."

Event Update

Looney Labs was represented by an awesome crew of Rabbits at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA this year! Looney Labs has accepted a Guest of Honor invitation for BASHCon 2007 in Toledo, Ohio! BASHCon will be held February 23, 24, and 25. Thank you, BASHCon Convention Committee, and especially local Rabbit Colleen Guernsey for inviting us to your show! We're excited to see all our Toledo-area fans next year!

Coming in November! Martian Coasters! Martian Coasters photo.

Shipping in November is Martian Coasters, a set of four 4" game board beverage coasters, useful not just to play the "Where Can I Put Down My Beverage?" game, but also a brand new pyramid game designed by Andrew Looney. It's a zany little race across an ever-shifting grid of colorful squares! This is NOT a standalone game, one Treehouse set and a six sided die is also needed to play.
